When learning is easy, you're not learning
The problem with our society is we think scrolling educational short videos as learning.
Fun science videos with repetitive music is only to sedate us, tricking us to spend more time indulging hours of so-called passive learning.
What start out as entertaining and intentionally good way to promote education, has become the very blockage to true learning.
If those reel videos of science experiments, general knowledge and history are really making people smarter and critical, therefore, shouldn't the smartest and great thinkers on Earth are among that consumes the most videos per month?
Short educational videos does not make you smarter.
Because it's easy, it's passive, and sedative at its best.
Learning cannot take place just by streaming informations.
A brain is not a mere storage. It's a machine that constantly deciding what is important and what is not, just so we can survive. Piles of easy-to-get information that has no relevance in our survivability equation is only doing distraction to our brain machine that is already costly to operate and loves to be sedated. Even if it did has relevance, as easy as it comes, is also as easy as it go.
When learning is seemingly too easy, the clarity of thought is absent.
Compare to active learning that requires long attention span, where you have to read books, write essays, exchange ideas with people, apply math formulas and sit for tests, which seemingly hard, and because it is hard, you were always learning to solve problems.
Over time, you get better at thinking and has accumulated beneficial knowledge, not just to survive at life, but to survive better.
